Wolves howling – a brilliant experience

Just a note to say thanks to Marcus from Pete and Angela for the Wolf tour. It was definitely the highlight of our holiday. The trekking was a brilliant experience, we really felt that we were in the wilderness away from civilisation and anticipated wildflife being around every corner. To be camping in the territory of the Wolves was a real privelage and to hear them howling was such a memorable experience. Marcus and his co guide Janne were excellent, friendly and so knowledgeable about the wolves and the other wildlife. Marcus’s enthusiasm and love for nature really has an affect on you and he’s a good cook too, I never thought as a vegetarian I would have been fed so well. It was great to have your food expertly cooked on the open fire.

Magical place – we saw 13 elks!

Wonderful, magical place, I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 nights in the Log Cabin. The location is fantastic (esp in the sunshine!), the sauna on the lake was lovely (though make sure you use dry logs!), the Elk Safari was superb (we saw 13 Elk). Marcus is a great guide and both he and his brother were excellent hosts. I look forward to returning, perhaps as a volunteer.

In love with a hotel!

Hello Marcus & David, It was really wonderful at Kolarbyn. Why am I not 20 years old? I want to work there! Can’t you create volontary work for 13 year old people? As we arrived in Belgium, there was a big storm just waiting for us… I want to go back there right now! It is really the best Hotel I’ve ever been to! I will surely come back, I want to hear the wolves howl! I tried to howl at my dog, but he just looked at me as if I were crazy… I loved it there… i think it is just the right Hotel for someone like me! (:

The älg-safari was defenitely a highlight

Thanks again for the adventurous tour Marcus, and the cosy fireside, Anna! For our kids, the älg-safari was defenitely one of their highlights of the summercamp. Maybe I¥ll come back for a wolf safari one day.

Impressive experience!

Thank you Marcus and Andreas for this marvellous august evening. Approaching a moose in the forest, a lot of moose grasing, over 30 moose, clear sky, full moon and howling wolves. That made up an adventure we will never forget. Coming back is a must.

Everybody was so welcoming!

We had an amazing time in Kolarbyn and had hours of fun practicing pronouncing Skinnskatteberg! Everybody was so welcoming and really cared that we had a brilliant time there. Anna’s cooking was incredible and we never went hungry! Overall, we had a fantastic time relaxing by the beautiful lake and enjoying “getting back to nature”. Back to the real world now!

Great Moose Safari!

Dear Marcus, We would like to thank you for the great weekend we had recently! We look back on a great feeling of freedom and an utmost swedish experience… It will be fresh in our memory when we go to Holland to tell family and friends about our whereabouts here in Sweden. We are still practicing on our moose calls though ;o) We have to tell you that we can add one more moose to the already good number we saw with you: on our way home we spotted one more! I recognized it because of its way of walking/running… and of course its size and looks, but the first thing that made it definitely not look like a horse was its “move”.
